Metro: What you can and can’t buy with supermarket loyalty points

Our campaign partners metro.co.uk shocked many of their readers when they published this piece detailing what you can, and can’t buy with loyalty points in the UK.

Booze? Yes. Baby formula? Nope.

Seriously!

Despite there being no mention of restrictions on what tender can be used to pay for formula in the current laws on selling formula, retailers have yet to be given clarity from the Government that accepting cash equivalents is lawful.

Points can be used on a variety of goods – including alcohol and sweets – but not on baby formula (Picture: Metro.co.uk/Getty)

That is why we got together with Metro to launch the Formula for Change campaign. Families need as many options as possible when it comes to being able to feed their babies, and the Government has a duty to make the law clear.
